Library

In a society where information is increasing at rates faster than ever before, students must have the ability to think critically and to access information efficiently. Library and information literacy skills are integrated into every subject area. In kindergarten through fourth grade, students attend a library class once a week. Fifth through eighth graders access library resources and receive research instruction in the context of their academic courses. Library and technology instruction introduces and develops skills for researching, gathering information and resources, validating information, and critically evaluating sources. Additionally, children are exposed to all genres of literature, instilling in them a passion for reading.
