Neighborhood: Hilltop
Years at Graland: 8

Why did you choose Graland? Graland is a wonderful school that focuses on the whole child.  We chose Graland after moving here from New York for the strong academics and curriculum, caring teachers, inclusive community, and emphasis on community service.  At the time we didn't realize how special the middle school trips would be - those remain our family's favorite aspect of the Graland education.  The Gates Innovation program has also been a highlight.  We couldn't be happier with the education all three of our children have received at Graland.

Grades: 8 and Graland Graduates

What are some of your child(ren)'s interests & extracurricular activities? My daughter has been involved in the Gates Innovation program every year.  She also is an active participant in Graland's middle school sports teams - volleyball, basketball and soccer.  She enjoys being part of school plays and musicals as well as being a member of the Voices choir group.  In addition, she is an Eagle Guide, a group of students who assist the admissions team in sharing students' perspectives.

Tell us some fun facts about you and/or your family: Our family of five couldn't be happier with our move to Colorado from New York almost eight years ago!  On the weekends, you can usually find us watching our kids' sports.  Depending on the season we love to attend high school ice hockey games, tennis matches, soccer games, and baseball.  My husband is originally from Toronto which makes us die hard Maple Leafs fans!
