From a young age, Mrs. Demartini never saw herself as anything else besides a teacher. She loves to connect with each of her students to learn exactly what will provide the most growth socially, emotionally, and academically.
Impacting Students
Something new I have added to our phonics lessons comes from Lucy Calkins new phonics program. Students become word scientists as they investigate and study our language. Two students lead the way-they wear a lab coat and protective glasses! The children are so engaged!
Lifelong Learner
The Diversity Cohorts and directly impacted my instruction. I have a new lens when selecting literature to share. I have deeper discussions because I now have tools that guide me.
Favorite Teaching Moment
Any moment when a student shares something that indicates just how "deep" they can think!
Professional Passion
I am passionate about creating a safe environment for each learner. I help each child be the very best they can be.
Feels Rewarded When …
I see the light go on and the child has the "Aha!" moment.
Outside the Classroom I’m …
… reading, knitting, or enjoying the outdoors.
Fun Fact
My husband and I completed a full marathon in Alaska with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Team in Training. We walked it. 7 hours, 6 minutes, and 5 seconds!
