Impacting Students
I love when the students are able to draw their own conclusions in mathematics and find their own errors in computation. It allows me to literally see them learning.

Lifelong Learner
In two short days at High Tech High, I gained tools that I was able to use in my classroom the next day as well as tools for long-term unit planning. It was a great reminder that students deserve to be exposed to challenging material, and that simple scaffolding can allow each one to be successful.

Favorite Teaching Moment
Whenever students take lead and ownership over the classroom.

Professional Passion
When I can learn alongside my students and allow their questions to guide a lesson.

Feels Rewarded When ...
Kids are talking about class outside of the classroom.

Best Use of Math in the Real World
Iron Man competitions. Biking, running, and swimming laps ... there is so much math that can be found in these activities such as spatial awareness, pace, and training. I also love all of the math that you can learn through building and woodworking.

Life Goal
Open a donation based mortuary.
