Kindergartners learned a poem about ants before setting to work on their September calendars in Mrs. Demartini’s class. To make their personalized set of dates, they cut out the poem, glued it into a green folder, and made fingerprint ants with support teacher, Mrs. Haug.
They’ll use the calendars throughout September to mark of the days of the month, count the numbers and highlight upcoming events. The calendar lesson involved math, poetry and rhyming as well as lessons about recycling scrap paper, practice using scissors, and experience with classroom routines.
