MEET THE FACULTY: DICK KINNEY

Philip William Hickey
Coach Kinney is in his element when he is interacting with kids on the field or on the court. Did you know there is a baseball field named after him?

Impacting Students
I enjoy sports practice because it teaches the strategy, teamwork and also the skills necessary to compete in the sport.

Lifelong Learner
A workshop taught me how we could work together and co-teach certain activities. I also spend a lot of time reading books and talking to coaches and watching others teach the same sports I teach.

Favorite Teaching Moment
A come-from-behind win. We were down by 15 points and came back to win 48-47. In teaching, every day is different in how kids respond or react and what they say from day to day.

Favorite Sport
Baseball: Played high school, college and semi-pro ball.

Favorite Childhood Memory
Playing baseball each and every day. Winning consecutive high school baseball championships.
