Preschoolers Make it Rain

Preschoolers studying the weather learned some things about the science behind rain during a demonstration using ice, a metal cookie sheet and an electric skillet.
As Ms. Flansburg explained big words like “evaporation” and “precipitation,” she described how clouds, the sun and water work together in the water cycle. After placing a tray of ice on the warm electric skillet, condensation formed on the bottom of the tray. As the droplets splashed down, it “rained” right on the students' heads in Ms. Flansburg’s classroom!
