Grade 2: All About Costa Rica

Students who are expanding their vocabulary and learning to read and write in Spanish finished a unit on the Costa Rican rain forest after making videos to demonstrate their pronunciation and comprehension skills.
With help from Señora James, they were recorded reading a script against a green screen before choosing a suitable background scene for the presentation. Rain forest animals were the subject of the videos and students also used their hands to sculpt a clay animal of their choosing. These activities were inspired by Señora James’ visit to Costa Rica where she experienced the rain forest and learned how local potters make their wares.
