ECLC: Buzzing With Excitement

With spring in full bloom at Graland, Pre-K students have been studying insects, plant life, spring, and summer.
They learned about the life cycle of a butterfly and got to observe caterpillars turning into butterflies firsthand. In addition, students studied an array of other insects and the value they bring to plant life. As part of this lesson, Graland's resident beekeepers (and Grade 5 MESH teachers), Mr. and Mrs. Dodge, stopped by the ECLC to teach the students about the benefits bees offer the environment and their experience producing fresh honey.
