Grades 3/4: Sparking Change
At a Lower School assembly this week, students were introduced to a new club for Grades 3/4. Spark Change is a service learning and leadership program that offers students the chance to give back and make a difference in the community. Members of the club will lead the Lower School in collecting coins for a specific cause to be determined by students.
At a Lower School assembly this week, students were introduced to a new club for Grades 3/4. Spark Change is a service learning and leadership program that offers students the chance to give back and make a difference in the community. Members of the club will lead the Lower School in collecting coins for a specific cause to be determined by students.
To join, students need to complete an application and return it by email or hard copy to Mrs. Dana Pease or Mrs. Elizabeth Leddy by Monday, September 19. Applications should include a statement of why the student is interested in this opportunity and how he or she can contribute to the group, including personal qualities and examples of past leadership successes. Parents must also sign the application agreeing to the weekly commitment. The club will meet on Thursdays from 7:30-8 a.m. starting September 29.
The club is limited to 18 students. Spark Change will replace Penny Harvest for 2016-17.
