Associate Head of School, with Graland since 2004
In a nutshell
Gail manages overall efforts to keep teachers trained and inspired through professional development opportunities. She’s had a hand in every curricular change since 2009. “I enjoy continuing to move Graland in a positive direction in terms of curriculum. That’s also what I love about education in general – it’s never the same from one year to the next. There are different students and different families, and the curriculum is always evolving to stay current. I’m always looking ahead to determine what kids need to know.”
Holds two degrees, a bachelor’s in finance and a master’s in curriculum and instruction. Has had three careers: in the business world, as a private chef and now education. Taught for six years, then moved into administration. Loves supporting teachers as they advance their careers.
“Being in education feeds my soul. Most of my work is behind the scenes, building stronger teams to accomplish goals and to understand a greater vision for Graland.”
At age 19, Gail suffered from a rare, life threatening blood disorder and was given only a three percent chance of survival. “It made me who I am today and taught me to cherish life. Everyone has something to overcome; if you have a positive attitude and the support of loved ones, you can do it.”
