In a nutshell
Parthenia wears many hats in the Lower School. She oversees the preschool and pre-Kindergarten programs, hires and manages interns, evaluates support teachers and directs the math program. She also assists the Head of Lower School in day-to-day management of almost 300 students in Grades PS-4.
Spent 29 years teaching students in Grades K-5 before joining administration. Holds a master’s degree in teaching and learning plus a bachelor’s degree in art history and elementary education teaching certificate.
“My passion is to build relationships between teachers and students and between teachers and their colleagues. I feel very lucky to work with kids every day and to see their joy.”
Parthenia, a single parent, traveled alone to China and adopted her daughter, Adie, who was 15 months old. “I always wanted to be a mom, and now every day I experience Adie’s unconditional love.”
