Director of Finance and Operations, with Graland since 2009
In a nutshell
Juan keeps Graland “in the black” and financially sound for the future. He also makes sure the operational side is running smoothly. “Safety is our number one priority and we take it seriously at Graland. I’m always looking for ways to improve our environment so it is warm, welcoming and safe.”
Graduated magna cum laude from the University of Northern Colorado. Certified public accountant and past chief financial officer for local nonprofit organizations including Mile High United Way. Has also worked in the corporate world for a large CPA firm and billion-dollar financial institution. Gives guest lectures at Regis University on the topic of nonprofit financial management. “Education,” he says, “has made a huge difference in my life.”
“Seeing Graland develop our future leaders always inspires me. This is a place where students are safe to experiment and take risks to become the best they can be. It’s so satisfying to see them grow every day.”
Juan has always been on the run – in a good way. He was a collegiate athlete in track, specializing in the 800-meter race and continues to run outdoors year-round. Cheer him on in the 5K Graland Gallop each September. Or better yet, try to catch him.
