Impacting Students
I love to teach children to read and see the love of reading come alive as they become more confident readers. Our Newbery Program has been an exciting addition to literacy in third grade. I have seen students begin to read genres that are new to them and find excitement and confidence as they build their appreciation and enjoyment in reading.

Lifelong Learner
My team is building an innovative, integrated curriculum using a project-based learning approach that will enhance our social studies naturalization and citizenship curriculum. Also the Orton Gillingham training that I attended strengthened my phonics instruction and gave me the support to implement a consistent phonics and spelling program that will impact decoding and comprehension instruction in my classroom.

Thoughts on Teaching
Teaching is one of the few professions where you not only teach others but you also learn daily.
