Preschool / Prekindergarten

  • Complete Online Application - Jan. 10

    To apply, Preschoolers must be 3 years old by September 1, 2024. Pre-Kindergartners must be 4 years old by September 1, 2024. Apply online.

  • Additional Required Documents - Jan. 28

    • Teacher Recommendations: If your child is/was enrolled in a school or daycare program within the past six months, a confidential teacher recommendation form is due from your child’s teacher. The recommendation form is available via the admission portal.
    • Video Requirements: For applicants to Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten we ask for short videos of the applicants doing developmentally appropriate activities in order to help us get to know them. Click here to learn more. 
    • Financial Aid: We regret that Graland is unable to offer financial aid for Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students.

  • Student Play Date and Parent Interview - Jan. 28

    • Student Play Date: Your child is invited to participate in a short, activity-filled in-person play date with other visiting students and Graland teachers. Student play dates can be scheduled after you’ve submitted the student’s online application.
    • Virtual Parent Interview: You will meet with an admission professional to learn more about Graland and to share your child’s individual characteristics and your aspirations for their education.

  • PS/PreK Admission Decisions - Mar. 1

    In accordance with Association of Colorado Independent Schools (ACIS) admission notification guidelines, Graland will notify families about admission decisions by email and/or phone, and by regular mail.

  • Complete Online Application - Jan. 10

    Students applying for Kindergarten must be 5 years old by September 1, 2024. Apply online.

  • Additional Required Documents - Jan. 28

    • Recommendations:  A confidential teacher recommendation form is to be completed by your child’s teacher. The recommendation form is available via the admission portal.
    • Records: A copy of your child’s transcript is due from his or her current school. Transcript release forms are available via the admission portal. 
    • Assessments: Children applying to Kindergarten - Grade 2 will have a virtual one-on-one meeting with an admission professional or a Graland teacher to complete a grade-level assessment. 
    • Cognitive Assessment: Applicants to Grades 3 and 4 are required to take the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI IV), Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC IV or WISC V) or the Differential Abilities Scales (DAS II). These are cognitive assessments conducted by an independent, licensed psychologist. You may choose your own qualified test administrator or refer to the list of professionals who operate independently from the school and have agreed to participate in admission testing for Graland Country Day School. 
    • Video Requirements: For applicants to Kindergarten - Grade 2 we ask for short videos of the applicants doing developmentally appropriate activities in order to help us get to know them. Click here to learn more. Children applying to Grades 3 and 4 are invited to submit a short, 1-3 minute video introducing themselves.
    *No transcript needed for Kindergarten.

  • Student Visit & Parent Interview - Jan. 28

    • Student Visit: Children applying to Kindergarten-Grade 2 will enjoy an in-person play date with other visiting students and Graland teachers. Children applying to Grades 3-4 will get to experience a “day in the life” full day visit at Graland. Student visits can be scheduled after you’ve submitted the student’s online application.
    • Virtual Parent Interview: You will meet with an admission professional to learn more about Graland and to share your child’s individual characteristics and your aspirations for their education.

  • Complete Financial Aid Application - Feb. 4

    Applicant families will be notified about financial assistance awards concurrently with notification of admission to the school.

  • K-Grade 4 Admission Decisions - Mar. 1

    In accordance with the Association of Colorado Independent Schools (ACIS) admission notification guidelines, Graland will notify families about admission decisions by email and/or phone, and by regular mail.

Middle School (Grades 5-8)

  • Additional Required Documents - Jan. 28

    • Recommendations: Applicants to grade 5 are required to submit one confidential teacher recommendation letter from their current teacher. Applicants to grades 6-8 are required to submit three confidential teacher recommendations from their humanities teacher, math teacher, and a principal, counselor or advisor. Recommendation forms are available via the admission portal.
    • Records: A copy of your child's transcript is due from their current school. Transcript release forms are available via the admission portal.
    • Assessment: Applicants to grades 5-8 are required to take either the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT). To learn more and register for a test date please visit the ISEE or SSAT website. Testing fee waivers are available for families who are applying for financial aid. Please contact the admission office to request a waiver.

  • Student Visit & Parent Interview - Jan. 28

    • Student Visit: Children applying to Grades 5-8 will get to experience an in-person “day in the life” full day visit at Graland. During their visits, students will also get to enjoy a one-on-one interview with a Middle School administrator. Student visits can be scheduled after the student’s online application has been submitted.
    • Virtual Parent Interview: You will meet with an admission professional to learn more about Graland and to share your child’s individual characteristics and your aspirations for their education.

Rolling Admission

Once the regular admission deadline has passed, Graland accepts applications year-round and will work with you to complete the admission process as quickly as possible, based on space availability.

Graland Sibling Admission

We love when siblings join our community! Applications for siblings of current Graland students are due November 1 with additional required documents due by December 3.

Graland Country Day School is a private school in Denver, Colorado, serving students in preschool, kindergarten, elementary, and middle school.
