Grade 2: Bio Expo Experts

For several months, second graders have been prepping for their largest culminating event of the year… the Biography Expo!
Throughout the process, students independently conducted research on a changemaker and the impact they had on society. The second graders were also asked to look at their subject’s life through an empathy lens and to consider the challenges they faced. Using the information they learned, students designed an invention to help their person with a difficulty they experienced. On Bio Expo day, students presented their research to the Graland community on why they chose their person, the subject’s successes and barriers, and the reasons they are considered a changemaker in history. Each student also showcased a handmade poster, an informational writing piece, and an invention they created. Way to go, Grade 2!
