Administrative Team

Josh Cobb

Head of School

Mr. Cobb is inspired by the opportunity to learn and grow every day in his role as Head of School. He is a seasoned educator with 20 years of experience teaching history, English and drama. Ask him to recite his favorite Shakespeare soliloquy!

Favorite Interaction with Students
My favorite interaction with students is when I’m facilitating a conversation with our older students and witnessing them discover the intricacies of more sophisticated concepts and ideas.

Most Inspiring Graland Program
Graduation...I love hearing each Graland student honored for their individuality before they take that next step on to high school and beyond.

Favorite Graland Moment
Mine is sitting atop Pancake Rock near Mesa Verde watching sixth graders scamper, climb, and play in that beautiful setting.

Graland Trip I Love
I enjoy the Civil Rights trip, mostly because of the unique nature of busing across the deep South while considering the Civil Rights issues of the past, present and future.

Professional Passion
I appreciate the opportunity and autonomy to innovate and enhance the learning environment at Graland, whether as a teacher or administrator.

Lifelong Learner
I probably learn the most from the close bonds I have with other heads of school. That collegiality is so essential to my learning. I also learn so much from my administrative team --  their talent, expertise, and compassion.

Fun Fact
I spent six months in India, in the Himalayan state of Sikkim, teaching English at a Buddhist monastery.

Life Goal
Return to India, probably Benares (Varanasi).

Favorite Childhood Memory
Backpacking in the Rocky Mountains with my parents.
