Impacting Students
Interactive Modeling is a strategy that models positive social, emotional, and academic behaviors. It sets my students up for success whether we are lining up, write letters, offering a proper handshake and so many other things. My students know what I expect and know what it looks and sounds like. They feel successful because they know the routine, as well as the expectation!

Lifelong Learner
Responsive Classroom training has been the single most impactful professional development that I have ever received. Now I teach these strategies to other educators around the country as a Responsive Classroom Consulting Teacher. It gives me the opportunity to hear from other teachers and educators about what works in their classrooms and schools and to bring back many new ideas to my own teaching.

Favorite Teaching Moment
After my colleagues visited my classroom when I was teaching Calendar, the feedback I received made me glow. They said they felt like boring old calendar time had been transformed into a true learning opportunity.

Fun Fact
I once taught sextuplets.

Best Childhood Memory
Horseback riding with my dad on our family's property. We would ride across the river and graze through the corn fields together talking and enjoying nature.
