Impacting Students
I enjoy teaching a music history lesson at various grade levels and regarding different genres. It provides students a perspective to relate to people from different cultures, times, and beliefs.

Lifelong Learner
At the Colorado Music Educators conference, there were several workshops on the music and movement approach called Dalcroze Eurythmics. Working together as a team we began to develop a unified language and a through-line curriculum for teaching music and movement to all of Graland's children. I continue to work with my fellow performing arts colleagues to become a better movement teacher.

Favorite Teaching Moment
Seeing students’ excitement and elation after a performance, whether in the classroom, private lessons, or public concerts.

Feels Rewarded When ...

The children run rehearsals and/or performances on their own.

Favorite Composer
Beethoven, because he helped transcend the rigors of the Classic period to create emotionally inspired music that opened him to the infinite.
