Preschool: All About Trees

Sara Flansburg’s class has been learning all about trees this month as they explore nature with their teachers and special guest Sarah Shutts, Graland’s horticulturist and grounds specialist. Here are some of the fun lessons they’ve enjoyed:
  • What food comes from trees?
  • What does a tree look like under the ground?
  • Why do leaves change colors?
  • Why are trees important?
  • What insects can destroy trees?
In one tasty activity, they sampled three varieties of apple -- Granny Smith, Pink Lady and Red Delicious -- to find out the class favorite. The tart, green Granny Smith won the vote!
