Middle School: Monet at the Museum

French students got a cultured treat when they visited the Denver Art Museum to see more than 100 Claude Monet paintings in a special exhibit titled, “The Truth of Nature.”
After an introduction to the exhibit by chief curator and Graland parent, Angelica Daneo, students observed the prolific French artist’s works created during his travels through Normandy, the Mediterranean, London, the Netherlands and Norway, as well as his famous water lily paintings. The audio tour allowed many to appreciate Monet’s interpretation of nature’s diverse landscapes in his signature Impressionist style.

According to the museum’s website, Denver is the sole U.S. venue for this collection of artwork, “the most comprehensive U.S. exhibition of Monet paintings in more than two decades.”
