Grade 2: Math is Fun and Games
Second graders learning to subtract from a three-digit number got extra practice with a game called Race to Zero with a partner.
They rolled a 10-sided die to get a number times 10 to subtract from 500 until one student reached the magic number, zero. For example, a roll of 6 means take away 60. With help from their place value mats and manipulatives, they grew their math brains as they got better at regrouping numbers!
