Grade 4: Sweet Lesson in Fractions

Fourth graders learning fractions with Ms. Courtney Menk looked at how to divide a pan of brownies into equal parts that could serve several friends.
In the Brownie Pan Challenge, mathematicians had to find multiple ways to split the pan amongst different size groups. This activity helped the students build a strong understanding of fractional relationships so that they are prepared to tackle more complex tasks in the weeks ahead.
