Middle School Awards Ceremony 2021

On Tuesday, June 1, a virtual assembly was held to celebrate the achievements and good deeds of Graland Middle School students. Head of Middle School Marti Champion hosted the event alongside several faculty members who presented the awards. 
Congratulations to the following Academic Excellence Award Recipients, who have been recognized for their dedication, curiosity, joy, and leadership in the classroom:

The awards ceremony concluded with “The Big Three Awards” (the Georgia Nelson Award, the Timothy W. Johnson Service and Leadership Award, and the Johnson Comfort Head of School Award) and a special surprise ending to the virtual event. 

The Georgia Nelson Award is given to a student who consistently goes beyond what is expected through their outstanding work ethic, love for learning, and personal growth. Congratulations to this year's award recipient, Cali Carr! 

The Timothy W. Johnson Service and Leadership Award is presented to a student who demonstrates courage, conviction, and ethical behavior at all times and inspires others to do the same. Congratulations to this year's award recipient, Joseph Masters! 

Finally, the John Comfort Head of School Award is given to an inspirational student who consistently remained dedicated to academics, athletics, the arts, and citizenship throughout their time at Graland. Congratulations to this year's award recipient, Sawyer Vinton!

To conclude the event, the Middle School students revealed that this year's yearbook is dedicated to Nurse Megan and Nurse Fran for their tireless commitment to the health and well-being of the Graland community this year. Congratulations, Nurse Megan and Nurse Fran, on this well-deserved honor and to all of the 2020-2021 Middle School Award Recipients.
