Grade 5: A Game of Ancient Survivor

This month in Mr. Willis’ Grade 5 history class, students took part in a game show-esque activity known as “Ancient Survivor.”
During this fun and interactive lesson, each fifth grader was assigned a famous ancient figure such as Julius Caesar or Cleopatra to research and write a speech on. Knowing that they would eventually have to go head-to-head with another classmate/ancient figure, students made sure to include key persuasive points about why their person was better. At the end of each 1-2 minute speech, the class voted on a winner to advance to the next round of the tournament.
