Kindergarten: Robo Round-Up

In preparation for their upcoming Rodeo, Kindergarten students explored a new Tinker Time project with Lower School Innovation Specialist Mrs. Elizabeth Leddy.
Using the laser cutter, Mrs. Leddy created small barns and herding dogs, which students decorated before attaching them to Sphero robots. The barns and Sphero “dogs” were set up inside hula hoops, where students used coding skills to guide their dogs and herd “sheep,” represented by ping pong balls, into the barn.

The activity combined creativity and problem-solving as students practiced basic coding while connecting their work to the broader Rodeo theme.

This project was part of a larger unit that has included writing, social studies, field trips, music, and more, leading up to the culminating Kindergarten Rodeo this May.
