Grade 5: Pages and Squires Work Towards Knighthood

The much-anticipated Knighting ceremonies are just around the corner, but first fifth graders have their work cut out for them. This week, they began designing their shields and writing their knighting speeches to articulate the attributes that make them knight-worthy.

Best of all, students are instructed to demonstrate the qualities of helpfulness and humility by serving their families at home. No menial task is beneath these future knights, who will gladly clean the "castle," prepare snacks, shine shoes and help with their younger siblings and/or pets. Up next: painting their shields before ceremonies begin the week of May 27.
