Library Uses A-Z+ Leveling System
Lower School students and parents can now search for library books using the child's reading level letter (A to Z+) under the Fountas and Pinnell (F&P) leveling program. The system has been honed by educators for the past 30 years into a reliable approach to reading instruction that propels all students toward confident, independent reading. Each student was assessed and assigned a letter that corresponds to appropriate books that will help him or her develop literacy skills.

To search the Graland Library Catalog by a reader's F&P reading level:
- Go to the library catalog: library.graland.org.
- Select “Graland Country Day School.”
- Click the “Catalog” tab.
- Select “Fountas and Pinnell” from the “Reading Programs” drop down menu in the middle of the page.
- Select the alphabet letter assigned to the reader.
- Click “subject” to search all books at that letter, or type a search term into the search bar to search for leveled books on a specific topic.
