“As products of and participants in Western Christian civilization, we believe that understanding of the great persons, events, and ideas of our culture is a proper basis for viewing the world and the universe. As much as possible, we will give the student knowledge and understanding of the other cultures which are increasingly a part of our world.
“We believe healthy development of the body in individual performance and in competition to be essential to the whole individual.
“We believe that the human being is unique in its capability for reasons and in its dedication to intangibles. We believe that Graland can exert great influence in the development of these characteristics within the student.
“Finally, we believe that no profession is more exacting than ours, but that no other profession can offer us such great fun.”
