1 cup golden raisins
½ pound vermicelli
2 eggs beaten
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
4 tablespoons honey
1 and ½ cups chopped walnuts
3-4 tablespoons unseasoned bread crumbs
powdered sugar

Soak the raisins in warm water to plump them. Drain the raisins. Soften the vermicelli in salted water for three minutes. Do not cook through. Drain the vermicelli.

Combine the sugar and the milk in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Add the semi-cooked vermicelli and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is cooked al dente. If all of the milk has not been absorbed by this time, drain the vermicelli. Add the beaten eggs to the saucepan, stirring quickly to cook the eggs. Then, add the honey, raisins, and chopped nuts and mix well.

Butter a 9 or 10-inch springform pan and dust it with the breadcrumbs. Spoon in the vermicelli mixture. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Remove the cake from the oven. Sprinkle with cinnamon and powdered sugar.
