Favorite Interaction with Students
I look forward to the Gates Invention Competition each year. It is so exciting to see the inventors’ ideas and to hear them talk about what sparked the idea in their heads. It is fun when I stand back and think to myself, "Now that is a great idea."

Most Inspiring Graland Program
The Sam Loewi Unified Games is a special one. Each year I see those kids walk in with the torch, the music and holding their buddies’ hands and I am truly touched. It is a journey they go on and embrace wholeheartedly.

Graland Trip I Love
The sixth grade Southwest Trip is truly a memorable time with students in one of the most beautiful places. The trip is filled with so much heritage as we learn about the Ancestral Puebloans through archeology, seeing the dwelling ruins and learning about the Navajo and Ute tribes, not to mention that this trip is the same trip that Graland students have been experiencing for generations. I watch the students grow their minds, climb the rocks, appreciate the sunsets and gaze at so many stars -- it is a pretty special way to learn.

Professional Passion
Marketing and communications is not necessarily just about telling people about what is going on. Rather it is discovering all the cool things happening and talking about why it all matters.

Lifelong Learner
I am learning so much about diversity and inclusivity. Whether through the administrative training sessions, the diversity and equity cohort, reading books or participating in conversations, I feel my mind, awareness and perspective is growing as I learn more each year. Sometimes it is messy, but I feel that these conversations make me better professionally, as well as a better person.

Why I Work at Graland
Hands down the people. It is so rewarding to work with a team that is talented, collaborative and thoughtful. I was a fan of Graland when I first joined the community as a parent, and now working here I feel even more confident about the school and what Graland does to inspire and support kids. I also love seeing my kids grow up here and benefit from everything that this school offers.

Outside Graland I’m ...
... somewhere enjoying the outdoors, whether it is running, hiking or skiing -- and even better enjoying those things with my husband and two children!

Life Goal
Travel internationally - everywhere

Fun Fact
I have had all the redhead nicknames: Gingy, Big Red, even Farkle.

Favorite Childhood Memory
Every summer I would go to the NY Catskills to be with my family at White Lake. We would all pile into our bungalow house, which was lakefront with 10 other bungalows filled with relatives - there could be 60 of us there at once. I got to know and grow up with my 6th and 7th cousins.  This is where my dad grew up spending his summers, and now I go there with my kids and they get to have the same experience I did as a child.
