At one point, we all walked into our Kindergarten classroom for the last time and didn’t even realize it, just wondering why our parents were all crying. Feeling a little deja vu right now, Mom.
We have been together as a class for nine years—and for some us even ten as Graland’s very first Preschool class.
The minutes were long, but the years were short. We couldn’t wait for highschool, but now that it is finally here, it’s unbelievable.
Many people say today is the day we start our journey, but I disagree. Today just happens to be the day that the path we have been walking on for nine — or ten—years splits into 65 different roads.
As a class, we have many memories together which I will cherish always.
The Kindergarten Rodeo, the Biography Tea, the Carnival, Knighting. Mr. Keefe’s jokes, Ms. Lassiter’s “Gum Rule.”
There are too many to cite here, but there were so many moments.
I put off writing this for a while–maybe a little too long… sorry Mr. Burrell! Not because I am afraid of crying, or because when I asked Sam if he started writing his speech yet, he replied “Uhh, no.” Really, I put it off because I can’t believe the day we have all worked so hard for is finally here. I didn’t know what to say about the immense amount of work, happiness, tears it has taken to get here. I am so grateful to have grown up in this place. I am immensely grateful for all of it, and each one of you.
Onward we go. LET’S GO CLASS OF 2022!
