PEN Event: Josh's Book Club

Josh's Book Club

Wednesday, January 24 / 6 p.m. / “A Whole New Mind” by Daniel Pink

What are the intellectual attributes students need to differentiate themselves from machines? What does it take to excel and thrive in a world dominated by technological advances? Please join Josh Cobb as he leads a discussion on Daniel H. Pink's thought-provoking and bestselling book "A Whole New Mind," which answers these questions by using the two sides of our brains as a metaphor for understanding the contours of our times. We'll discuss the differentiating traits or, as Pink calls them, "senses" – design, story, symphony, empathy, play, and meaning – that are essential in our changing world. Find the book here.

Though we encourage you to read the book, it's not necessary to join the event. If you're short on time, you may enjoy hearing Pink discuss the book on Oprah's podcast.
