Foundations Center Renamed Hamilton Reiman Building

At this week’s Board meeting, Board President Bruce Rifkin made the following announcement: "In appreciation of the generosity of Fred Hamilton and Scott Reiman, the Foundations Center has officially been renamed the Hamilton Reiman Building. Fred, Scott, I'd like to personally thank you for supporting the project very early on and giving us the momentum to complete the fundraising."
Several years ago, the Board of Trustees’ Campus and Facilities Committee recognized that although it had a long list of wants, only a couple of facilities were really needed. Primarily, Graland’s lunchroom and kitchen facilities were inadequate. We were in need of a modern dining hall where students and staff could enjoy healthy meals in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Graland also lacked an adequate performance space, where our arts program could grow and flourish and where families could enjoy the budding talents of their students.

Today, both of these needs have been met in the form of the new Anschutz Commons and the renovated Foundations Center building. At this week’s Board meeting, Board President Bruce Rifkin made the following announcement:

"In appreciation of the generosity of Fred Hamilton and Scott Reiman, the Foundations Center has officially been renamed the Hamilton Reiman Building. Fred, Scott, I'd like to personally thank you for supporting the project very early on and giving us the momentum to complete the fundraising."

While the finishing touches are still being added to the Hamilton Reiman Building, we will soon welcome audiences to our state-of-the-art performing arts center with seating for up to 300 people. Windows were added to the north end of the building, restoring some of the grandeur of the building as it was originally designed, and allowing for an abundance of natural light. Just off the new music classroom, where the old stage used to be, is a beautiful lobby area, which will be used to display student art as well as accommodate pre-performance gatherings. A small addition to the building on the northeast corner will serve as the main entrance for evening performances, and it houses a new elevator, allowing access to both the theatre and the lower level library.
