Preschool: A Visit from Graland’s Top Dog

As part of their pets and animals unit, students in Ms. Sara Flansburg’s class recently welcomed a special visitor: Luna, Graland’s therapy dog.
During her visit, students learned about the important job Luna has on campus and how she helps bring comfort and joy to the Graland community. They also watched Luna demonstrate some of her tricks.

Afterward, students drew in their journals, imagining an adventure Luna might like to go on. The class is focusing on story structure, practicing how a story has a clear beginning, middle, and end through their illustrations.

The visit gave students an opportunity to connect their study of animals to a real member of the Graland community while continuing to practice how stories are organized.
