Grade 6: Literary Food Trucks

After finishing their choice novel, Grade 6 Book Club groups began working on a Literary Food Truck project to demonstrate their understanding of the text in a new and different way.
Students were tasked with creating a food truck with carefully crafted details and menu items that represented elements from their books. Possible ideas were tying food items to character traits, using text-specific alliteration to create catchy food titles, acrostic poem menus, or utilizing the text to highlight food the characters ate in the stories. Sixth graders collaborated with classmates to build and present their creations, sharing how their food truck vision related to their books. As an extra treat, some groups brought in one of their menu items to share with the class!
