ECLC: Discovering Shapes in Preschool

"What is a triangle?" "Is this a triangle?" "How do we know?" This month, preschoolers asked these questions as they studied shapes.
According to Preschool Teacher Ms. Sara Flansburg, "Recently in preschool, students learned that triangles have three straight sides and three vertices. We also learned that triangles can look different from each other. We used our artistic and cognitive skills to make art with triangles while reinforcing our new knowledge about the qualities of triangles. We also introduced the circle, a round shape with no straight lines and no corners. Preschoolers listed things that are shaped like circles and did a shape sorting activity." Keep up the excellent work, Graland preschoolers!
